To the Editor:

You have to know things are getting to a breaking point when a UN official finds mud huts built by Gazans as a sign that people can "overcome even the worst problems.: The blockade in Gaza is, as John Holmes said, a "collective punishment of 1.5 million Palestinians." Why are all of these people continue to be punished? Is it because Hamas captured and Israeli soldier in 2006? It seems to me that a blockade only stregthens the hate of people of Gaza feel for those that enforce it.
