Checking Passports?

Re: "Suspect List Grows by 15 In a Killing In Dubai" February 25, 2010

To the Editor:

THe investigation into the assassination of Mahmoud al-Mabhouh seems to leading investigators into a complicated web. What disturbs me most about this killing isn't that evidence is showing that the Israeli secret service may have been involoved. Or that the suspect list is now up to 26 people. What scares me most is that the suspects were all able to obatian forged passports from different countries and were able to enter the United Arab Emirates without any real problems. I was under the impression that airport and border security throughout the world have been becoming more diligent about spotting forged documents. As the article said, the suspects came through countries that didn't have extra precautions. I hope that this event causes more precautions to be taken. Every single person that enters a country should be throughly screened. If that doesn't start happening, more assassinations can certainly be expected.
